We maintain and service commercial boilers on systems up to 1MW, and can offer service and maintenance plans for boilers, plant rooms and all wet services in the customers building.

Boiler replacement and plant room overhaul

Much of the older boiler fleet in service in the UK utilises cast iron heat exchangers and large parasitic loads. Customers may run equipment well beyond its design life because of capital expenditure constraints. This reduces reliability and incurs additional energy costs and contributes to unnecessary pollution from the equipment.
We look to develop engineering solutions that are correct and optimised, based on a Front End Engineering Design this offers customers the opportunity to achieve great performance and value for money (capital expenditure and operating expenditure).
Pumps
Replacement pump selection
In some instances pumps can be repaired and overhauled and when this is practicable we will endeavour to do so.
In many instances heating circulation pumps are selected on crude criteria and as a result are often critical points of failure on systems.
Because pumps are critical and sometimes incorrectly sized, when replacement is necessary we typically perform a heat and mass balance check on the heating system to facilitate the design of greater system efficiency system to be designed and installed. This can offer substantial savings on a lazy like for like replacement approach.
Tanks
Commercial calorifiers (hot water tanks)
Understanding heat transfer, thermal storage capacity and flow hydraulics is essential to the successful selection of hot water tanks.
Flow balancing between storage tanks and providing over and under temperature control are now health and safety obligations on building operations. We can design and supply new tanks, or retro fit control system modifications to provide better hot after temperature control.

Expansion tanks
We service and maintain expansion vessels on heating systems.
We can optimally size expansion vessels capacity for any type and size of system.
Air boost systems
We have designed and installed air boost systems for mains water boost systems, these can be a cost effective alternative to mains booster pumps in some applications. The air boost vessels are a low cost alternative to a break tank and booster pumps and in situations where they are suitable are in most respects superior to mains booster pumps.
Flues and pipework
Chimney systems on commercial equipment come in a variety of shapes and sizes.
Chimney regulations impose strict controls on how chimneys can be installed and operated.
We have experience in solving very complex and challenging fluing requirements.
Fluing and ventilation are closely related and achievement of regulatory compliance can be among the most challenging parts of a plant room design. Inadequate ventilation can result in plant rooms that are potentially very wasteful of energy or excessively hot to personnel.
